:chin:Hello all! As you can see, I'm a newbie, I just joined. I'm also young, but I'm not a "Kid," I'm nearly a teen. Ever since I saw these I loved them! There so adorable! ::wub:: Ever since then I've been looking at pics. and reading all about them. I think I know a pretty good bit about them. ::nod:: I don't actually have one yet though :( I asked my mom and she alwayz says "I don't know we'll see..." I have faith though. ::thumbsup:: If anyone knows any important facts or things about them, plz. tell me! Also, if you have any pics. of your chin, plz show me and include their name ;) I'm hoping of getting a cute (tame) female and naming her Belle, or if I get a male, I'll probably name him Devon. Oh, and one more thing, Does it matter what gender you get? I mean, is there a certain gender that is better then the other? Thanks :::grins::
P.S. Reply as soon as you can! ::silly::

HI,
Welcome to the boards! It really doesn't matter if you get a boy or a girl if you are buying it young. If you buy an older chinchilla that isn't tame you may want to go with a boy. When girls are scared they can stand up and shoot pee at you. They only do it when they are really scared or mad. A tame girl will not spray you.

Welcome! I hope your Mom will give in and let you have a chinny. They are great little pets.
I currently own 3:
1 standard male "Squirrelbuny",
(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b283/smromero06/Pets/Monkeybuny%20Squirrelbuny/DSCF0333.jpg)
1 black velvet female "Monkerybuny",
(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b283/smromero06/Pets/Monkeybuny%20Squirrelbuny/DSCF0204.jpg)
and 1 violet male "Mystique".

For me my female is the sweetest, I can carry Monkeybuny around the house on my shoulder. She is my little snuggle bug. Mystique is also very friendly, and loves chin scratches. My other male Squirrelbuny is more agressive and bites sometimes.

If your mom is anything like me, "we'll see" is a good thing.
She would have said "NO" right off the bat.
They are awesome little critters and you'll have a blast with what ever sex you get.
Though both my males and females will spray when irritated.

Hello gurl,
Some say males make the better pets, but I don't agree.
They are all so different anyway, I have both sexes that are awesome pets.I also have both sexes with attitude, though the females seem to have more than the males. Some folks just call it personality.
a couple of pics of mine to share with you too,
the first is Dakota, my bigest, he's a tov homo beige.
Then the last two kits born.Though they are both grays, they are still totally different.

Squirrelbuny was names, because to me that's what they look like a mix between a squirrel and a buny. :) Monkeybuny, because she climbs the bars of her cage like a little monkey. :)
I love the name Cheerio. It's so cute!. :)
