I'm glad to hear it worked out good, but something you can give your chins with a good effect on diarrhea is Chamomile tea 1:because the water is boiled 2: if the chin drink it from drinking bottle its not harmfull if you have other chins there to 3: give it trough a syringe ( last 2 -3 days in refrigerator).Make sure its not complete icecold when given to the animal. no amount limit.
Other things to give them, so they dont get more dehydrated and loose weight, is a powder that keeps the water and electrolyte balance, can be bought at the chemist, its for humans, but it can also be easily made at home, one quart (1 liter) of water, 8 teaspoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of salt, mix the sugar and salt in the boiling water, let it cool down (can last 2 days if in refrigerator).Make sure its not complete icecold when given to the animal. no amount limit. Last but not least Oatmeal made as a soup, keep boiling until the rolled oats are completely gone. This can now be given trough a bigger syringe than you use for meds and it keeps the stomach from going nuts during a penicillin treatment to. You can make it tinner afterwards by adding some of your chamomile tea/electrolyte water. If you really want something good then instead of the oatmeal soup, you can buy something called Oxbows Critical Care. But not all vets have it.
