should there be some sort of cooler in her cage at all times? Right now, the only extra things I have in there are a hut thing, and obviously her food/water and timothy hay. We are from Chicago, so we have not had warm weather yet. She lives in our basement.

Right now we are using a ball/spinner for the timothy hay. It makes such a mess and the door never seems to close right. What is something I could use that won't be so much clean-up?

Q & A / New owner, a couple of questions

My daughter bought her first chinchilla last week. At the pet store, they told us to clean her cage out with water/bleach mixture. What about clorox wipes? Are they safe to use? And how often should I be doing that? I clean it daily to remove any mess she makes.
