This is berry boys cage. Bad lighting and its a camera phone picture.

He has the full thing to himself which is why theres a strip of coroplast going a across the center there. Its where the top grate and tray go in.

There are a few natural branches in there (birch), some wooden platforms, and a fleece corner hammock that i made. Im still working on getting some more hidey places for him but he also has a jolly ball which thankfully he doesn't chew or it would have to go.

Would like to get a tunnel made next for him.

Because enna doesn't have the space? lol. I love my Chin dearly i really do and i wish i could get him one that big but my birds mean everything to me. And after loosing the first bird i ever got 2 days before christmas i was heartbroken. Then to loose another exactly a month after i decided it was time to get them in a safer enviroment where they can't be chewing the walls and giving me less of a heart attack each time i couldn't find them.

I think the chin will like a ferret nation cage as will i. Then when i can afford it i'd like to get a second one Then and only Then will i consider a buddy. If i can get them to like each other open up the 2 cages for them and let them live happily ever after.

Other Pets / New Aviary!
« on: May 16, 2011, 11:04:27 AM »
I haven't been on here in sooo long but i just wish to show off my new aviary for my feathered flock. Hopefully these pictures are not too big

Boxes!

Lots of parts (plus my black kitty blending in)

part ways up (you can see how the devils have chewed the wall some)

The full aviary

Its been moved and changed around since then but i just love it! In total its about 7' long 5 wide and 7' tall. It houses 29 birds (16 budgies, 8 cockatiels and 5 Green Cheek Conures) i'm blessed they all get along as i don't know what i would do if i had to revert back to small cages.

The only birds not in my aviary are my Maroon bellied conure, and my newest and last addition a Orange Wing amazon parrot. He was bit of a rescue so im still working with him. But for the most part him and the Maroon bellied live in the same space with no problem.

For more pictures you can go here. i believe you will be able to see it.

General Chat / Question About Dyed Toys
« on: December 25, 2010, 09:57:09 PM »
Well, I make a lot of toys for my birds and recently i've been dying my own parts. Would it be alright for the Chin to Chew and possibly injest Wood dyed with Rubbing Alcohol as the base of the dye?

This is one toy i was planning on giving Mr.Berry boy but i didn't really know if it would be alright for him to chew the sticks i've dyed cause of the Alcohol.

Its All chewable stuff. Wooden beads to seperate the craft sticks and all strung on Paper cord. I also want to use some of this stuff to refill Berry boy's Jolly Ball.

i know a lot of people use this for their birds and there has been a panic but there are going to be other vendors with the product!

For canadians Things For Wings, already carries it and i believe Danita Will continue to carry it

General Chat / Raspberry's New Digs
« on: July 18, 2010, 01:40:26 PM »
Been wanting to transfer the little dude over to a bigger cage for a while so i finally done it. Excuse the feathers, With 20 odd birds here you can count on there being feathers around, Even worse since some of the crew are moulting.

I Don't know what else i want to do with it just yet. You can see his jolly ball, And his little hidy tunnel which he adores, You can just see him sitting ontop of it which is new for him as he couldn't get up there with his old cage. Then when getting some birdy supplies the other day, Tasha got the cute little Cars tent for free for him, Can you say spoild child?

The only new things added in this cage which wasn't in the old is the tent, the mini red platform which i had to make so he could get onto his tunnel, and 2 new toys. Lease i still have room to add some more things and its not nearly as crowded. I just worry about using a grate on the bottom.

Now all i think is needed is a friend to share the cage with? lol eventually

He's doing great. Ended up moving him to the birdies room as i was worried about the cats but it was in some ways better for him. Cage was allowed open when i was in the room till he found out he could get into  the box spring of my bed thanks to a rip in it. Took me 2 hours to get him out. He's still out a lot, i just can't leave him alone for about 5 mins anymore.

Congratz on the new kits. I'd love to get another baby some time in the future. Totally inlove with the PinkWhite mutations. Don't think i'm ready for another just yet as i'm already wanting a bigger cage for him just so i can deck it up more.

Other Pets / The kittens
« on: June 16, 2010, 09:41:47 AM »
Well, Minnie (minion) finally had her kittens. 2 Beautiful tabbys (one of which were keeping and calling tiger) a cute little black one and a black and white. Sad story really,  minnie got outside once before we could spay her and ended up with these guys. Soon as they are weaned shes getting fixed!

Must say, She is the oddest cat i've ever had. Most cats usually hide away to have their babies but not her. She woke everyone up. We didnt have a place for her to have them so gave her a basket and blanket and figured we'd leave her alone while she had them. She was having nothing to do with being alone. All 3 of us had to be there or she'd follow us.

Got homes for all but one right now

Tiger

Momma and her babies

i think she enjoys being a mom, Dont you
