Tiffany has notified me that she would no longer be Vice President, so we will be looking for someone to replace her. We may even open the floor for nominations for all officers. This time every year we have a summer meeting to discuss what has happened with our past show and to make plans for the upcoming show. We usually meet in June, but in talking to members, June seems to be a very hectic month. So our meeting will be in July.

Hi...We have picked the hotel!!

The Quality Inn Merchants Drive in Knoxville, TN. 117 Cedar Lane
Meeting on June 26th.

The Hotel Manager and I have been playing phone tag so all of the final details have not been set yet, but he told me that we would get a discount. I will be posting all of the final details whenever I can talk with him. He doesn't work on weekends so it will have to be Monday.

Hi Jamie!  Yes, the shows and future meetings will be around the Carolinas. 

For this upcoming meeting everyone will be traveling about 6 hours to attend in Knoxville, this way it is fair to everyone.  Having all of the southern states to cover makes it difficult to find a location that suits all.

We are choosing the locations for the meetings now by putting all of our members' locations on the map and picking the most central town.

Hopefully, you will be able to make the next meeting.

General Breeder Chat / Wanting a Standard VC Female

Hi All....I know you may think I dropped off the face of the Earth because I haven't been online lately, but I started a new job and with the boys' schedule it is very hard to get time to check out the forums.  I will do better!

Now to the subject at hand.....I have a dear friend that needs a Standard VC Female.  She owns a very pretty Violet Male that is totally sex starved.  He will "do" anything he can get his little body on!     If there is anyone out there with a Female of breeding age for sale, Please email me or send me a message!  She has searched several websites and when she checks with the breeders they don't have anything to sell,,,their websites aren't up to date.

She lives in Indiana and will be going to the MCBA Nationals and she is willing to drive and meet somewhere.

When making reservations please state that you are with the ECBC.  We have a group of rooms blocked for Friday (9/25/09) and Saturday (9/26/09).  Room rates are $65.00 per night plus tax and if you bring an animal there is a pet fee of $15.00.  There is a HOT Breakfast Bar included.

The meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26th.  Ralph and Barbara Shoots will be our guests.  At this meeting we will be planning our FIRST Southern Empress Unit Show.

A more detailed itinerary will be announced closer to the meeting date.

Some chinchillas don't like each other from the start.  Sibling Rivalry!  When kits are born you have to watch from the moment they start nursing.  Survival of the fitest!

I think for the most part....chinchillas will and do get along, but if you have ever watched babies fight over Mom.....they can get real mean, real fast.
