I*m thinking hes bored & has nothing to do or it*s in his genes. he*s stopped & its growing back. He looks like a lil fuzzy mohawk. heh its going down his back. he*s a grey too. i let him have long play times too, i read to him while he runs & jumps & poo*s..hehe..we*re reading cupcake

Health / Roo's fur bitin?

hey guys, just when i thought i had the hang of Roo, he switched it up. A few weeks ago he bit all the fur off his butt area off, i took him to the vet & the vet said it seemed like it was nutritional. He didn*t start until we tried the hay cubes. So i switched him back to his regular timothy hay. He*s wasnt biting it all the way to the fur but after the vet freaked him out he did. You can tell its growing back though. I noticed hes chewing it off in a few places on his back he hadn*t before. Is he still adjusting & trying to get the old hay completely out of his system? He doesnt act like he*s hurting, hes running & jumping & being Roo. If anyone could help I*d be so greatful!

aww!!! thanks you guys. should i leave him a lot of hay & food, & just get my mom to give him a raisin everyday & change his water? she wouldnt know what to do if he got out even if i told her. he*s skiddish around people other than me &my boyfriend so he*d hide behind the bed & wouuldnt come out. I could put his food & hay on the 2nd floor of his cage to prevent him pooing in it.

My boyfriend is taking me snowboarding for 4 days. Roo has to stay ,( I*m going to be worried about him the entire time we*re gone! ) i*m getting my mom to take care of him while we*re gone. When should i start introducing her to him? Should she stay at the apartment for 4 days? What all do i leave for her besides the vet's # & food directions? Should i stop letting him out for a few days so he knows he can*t come out everyday & to help prepare him for the 4 days he wont be out? Sory with all the questions! lol I*m so worried about him. i dont wanna stress him out.

Roo loves to treat me as his personal jungle gym too, i usually lay on my tummy so he acts as my hair dresser & stands beside me & scrumages through my hair, I*ve taught him to come to me when i call him [[ he just up & did it i made a noise & patted my knee]] & to give kisses [[ipat & make a kissy noise]] & high 5's [[i show him a treat & hold up my finger & tap his - he got it after 5 or 6 times ]]

i love my little man. when my boyfriend gets me upset i talk to roo & the next time he sees my boyfriend he throws food at him.

me &my boyfriend were thinking about getting him the larger one of these http://www.petco.com/product/13911/Midwest-Small-Pet-Playpens.aspx . It should be high enough he cant jump out, hes only 5 months old. we wont be putting anything in with him, but a few chew toys. Should i attach a water bottle to it too? I feel so bad because i just picked him up & put him up. this is twice now & i want him to know he cant do it. Thanks you guys!!

We moved into the apartment about a month ago. Roo has been fine until tonight. He somehow managed to crawl under the door when i went to the bathroom. Is there like alittle play pin or something i can get to keep him contained & room enough where he can play?

I wanted to dye my hair tonight, i was wondering if this would hurt Roo? I*ve had a lady tell me the smell killed her 3 chins..is this true? can i do it with the lil man in the room or should i stay in a place where he isnt? Thanks for helping!

If it was me i*d get someone who they're use to so they wont feel threatened or scared. Roo is awfully social but i*d only let 1 or 2 people take care of him for that long. Chin's are very protective & skidish. hehe i*d take Roo with me [[i took him to my moms with me & my boyfriend when the power was out for a day]], but if thats not a choice i*d get someone who you know for a fact won*t mess [[i.e poke at them, be very very loud & careless]] with them.

Roo looooves to watch tv, specially the food network.. he*s in the living room now because thats usually where we are unless we're asleep. He does well with different people coming in too. Way better than i thought he*d be..he*s very social. I was watching a movie & I*d flip back & forth between the movie & the food network on commericals & ended up giving up on the movie because he barked for the food network. At first i didnt know what he wanted so i put it on the movie he was fine for a minute then he*d bark so i*d change it he*d stop so i*d go back & he*s continue to bark. He*s so interesting!! He*ll sit with me & actually watch tv when i let him out too. He comes out in our room. To make it easy to get him up i give him a cranberry or a rasin. its made it so much easier.

is it ok to give him one bath a week? he loves it! he got 1 a few days ago....should i change his bedding after he gets a bath? i usually change it once a week. If i decided to give him more, do i change it everytime i let him bathe?

haha..he*s a picky little thing. He loooooves to watch tv. When we moved into the apartment he was in the bedroom with us the first 2 days. Then we decided to move him into the living room because he*ll see us all the time & play & not keep us up. We got him a radio & he*s ok with it then again some nights, he just wants to watch tv..so i turn it on & he*s fine..hehe we*ve been in the apartment for a week yesterday & he*s raised it $25 in a week...hehe...now that we got the HD dvr he*ll enjoy the HD channels..hehe..i love him!!!

When i first got Roo i didnt read your weren*t supposed to put a fan on them, since we kept it at 75* in the house i didnt want him getting hot so i kept it on him from across the room on the 2nd setting & he loves it! He*d hang out in his hammie.. I dont do it anymore though..Now he*s in the living room.

My boyfriend wants a dog, he loves roo & all but he wants something he can hold & pet, etc, etc.. I*m NOT bringing anything into this house that may harm the health of my Roo. He wanted me to ask you guys if it would be ok to get a meduim dog? Will this alarm Roo in anyway? He*s quiet a character! Last night he was playing & he jumped on my shoulder & hung out for like 15 minutes, then jumped on my head & ontop of the desk..hehe he*s so funny!! He doesnt like green apples. tried that tonight. I*ve decided to stop giving him raisins & dried cranberries just because. I*ve decided to only use it for treats. This is how i*ve found i can catch him to put it in his cage. All i do is give him 1 & he lets me grab him & take him back to his cage while he munches..
