What about cardboard?
I put a shoebox in with him, and a empty roll of toilet paper stuffed with hay.

Is he cool to eat the cardboard?

Q & A / Homemade chew toys tonight??? I'm going to pet store tomorrow :)

Hello all,

Very new here, purchased 5 yr old chin on the 21st.

He only came with 2 wooden chews...
I am letting him run around, but want to provide him some toys. I have 2 cardboard boxes, and a toilet paper tube with Timothy hay stuffed inside.

What are some household toys I can provide my NEW to me family member?

I was thinking wooden Tinker toys, Lincoln logs, wooden blocks.

BUT I am afraid to cause him harm.
What are some wooden toys I can throw his way tonight to let him "Gethis chew on" ?

Q & A / Re: Wooden blocks??

I'm standing by on the blocks and any other wood I have, the child has gotten older, and all the tinker toys(wood) and the Lincoln logs(we all remember those) are stored, so I figured could our other baby have those.

I am standing by until I can get an answer from someone I feel knows, so no bust, I am not trying to save a nickel, I was just thinking "would these work?"

Q & A / Wooden blocks??

Can my chin play with wooden blocks that my toddler had?
They have letter and number, but there is a layer of paint. I am unsure if I should add them...
I was thinking of boiling them to kill any bacteria, and maybe sanding down the painted sides.

Thoughts?

Picking up my first chinchilla on Friday.
The previous owner says he has everything.
What are the Must Haves?
I've got about $100 extra cash to put towards items. What are your thoughts on things needed besides cage, water, feed, dust, Timothy Hay?????

Any suggestions are welcomed!
