Health / My phoebes mouth is wet
« on: October 21, 2013, 09:53:48 PM »
I was giving pheobe and Ursula their food today when I noticed Pheobes mouth to be a little wet on the right side only and it's making me wonder. She's eating just fine and doesn't act like her teeth are bothering her (no pawing at the mouth or anything) so am I over reacting? Could it just be their water bottle? I'm a new chin mom for a little over a month and they aren't to comfortable with me yet to pick them up and exam them. I hope I'm just over reacting lol  ::shrug::

Q & A / How to get my twin chin girls to like me?
« on: September 26, 2013, 10:20:10 PM »
I just got two 4 month old chins from a breeder about 2 weeks ago. They seem to be adjusting just fine. They come up to the cage when I get home and will crawl all over my arms but they still won't let me pet them (scratch behind the ears or belly it anything) and I also can't pick them up cuz they will run away. Any tips on how to get them to trust me better?  I know it is a long process but I feel that if they are babies it should be easier however I feel like they will never trust me.

Q & A / Is my noisy a/c going to be a problem?
« on: September 02, 2013, 12:07:13 PM »
Hi!
I have been wanting a chinchilla for a while now and have been doing a lot of research. I know they need cool temps and my house is always hot in the summer months so I went and bought a portable A/C for in my bedroom and it seems to work awesome. But my question is, I have to keep the a/c on at all times to keep it cool and its a little noisy, will the noise from it bother the chinchilla? Or will it be fine?
