General Chat / Exercise. HELP!

I just took out my chinchilla for his exercise time, and I have a lot to learn. I totally panicked he would hurt himself somehow and it was so stressful. Plus I need to figure out a better way to get him back in his cage because right now I put him back and he gets all mad at me. I feel so bad putting him back he tries to get through all the bars on the cage and I feel awful.

Health / Eating Regularity

What would you all consider normal for eating? Meeko seems to eat a lot, but everything I've seen says I should always keep a good, consistent supply of food in the cage. I just want to make sure I don't get him too fat!

Just introducing myself! My name is Kelly, I'm a recent college grad. My username is my new chinchilla's name. He is my first chinchilla and he is so funny. I needed a little buddy because I live alone. So, I'm around him a lot a lot. I just moved him in yesterday and he's still getting used to everything. I hope that we have a happy, long relationship. He's a doll and I hope that I'm a good chinchilla parent, but you'll probably see some questions from me. Excited to meet everyone!
