Q & A / INGS hay
« on: May 02, 2014, 04:19:34 PM »
My husband and I are experienced Chin owners and have always fed Timothy Hay. We also own 2 skinny pigs which are fed a variety of Meadow hay, Timothy and INGS hay. INGS hay is grown in naturally managed meadows which flood when raining and the natural silt produces fresh, sweet hay, free from any chemicals and pesticides.  What I would like is an opinion from others if this is good to feed chins alongside Timothy. We know Timothy is vital due to the nutritional and dental value. Thanks :)

Other Pets / Re: Can guinea pigs take dust baths?
« on: May 02, 2014, 04:14:07 PM »
I see that this is an old post but as an experienced piggie owner Grey Rodent is indeed right.  Dust baths are not good for piggies. They can contract brrathing problems and URI from the dust. Also the small grains can get stuck in their fur and cause irritation. If you own Skinnies like us the abrasiveness could cause skin injury.  Furry pigs enjoy a wet bath with a good piggy friendly shampoo and a good solid dry afterwards. I just wanted to add to this in case of any future people still wondering.
