::silly::Joyce's Female Chin, Mia is pregnant and due about the 28th of July.
The mating plug was found on April 8th, 2006.
At the time, she weighed 770 grams.
Now, she weighs 1,050 grams, a difference of 280 grams, and has about two weeks to go.
{Joyce can keep us up-dated on weight gain & the final results.}  ::nod::
Below, you will see a picture of her.  Below that, you will see a picture of Oki, the daddy.

;D Yes, and as you can see he totally has sympathy appetite!   ::) Sometimes you wonder who is really pregnant here!  I do think that Oki is a nervous daddy to be.  He spends a lot of time checking on his wife, grooming her and just snuggling up to her.  They do chat quite a bit among themselves, it is pretty cute.  They get nose to nose and have full high pitched conversations!  I love it.  You wonder what they are saying.  I really have never seen 2 chins so attached to one another, ever.  The funniest thing is what Oki does everytime we clean their cage.  As soon as we put them back in, Oki goes directly into their hut and spends a while digging every single piece of bedding out the door!  He sweeps the floor of the hut clean!  Then he goes under the wheel and does the same thing, digs & paws every speck of the carefresh bedding out from under the wheel so the area is completely bare and (I guess) cooler for his precious wife!!!  Then Mia trots over squeezes under the wheel and flops over onto her side to nap!  Her favorite spot!
I am so excited to see what they have, how many & what colors (of course standard or beige).  We have all been taking family polls around here.
::silly:: We'll keep you all posted.

:-[ Really!!!  I so remember feeling like that too!!!  That would be a great thread to start huh?  Send in a picture of when you were 9 months pregnant!  Mine would not fit on this screen  ;D.
Mia is doing well, she continues to grow and is really off on her balance now.  She kind of plops around as she walks and has a little trouble on her leaping ledges.  She remains as sweet as ever and is very loving and clingy!  The only thing she has stopped doing now (that I loved) is talking with me.  She used to be a very high pitched chatter, we would go back & forth it was very funny!  I am hoping she picks it up again post pregnancy.

 ;)  Hi Everyone,

I wish there were finally some exciting news to give, but nothing yet!  Mia is doing very well.  Her day "111" is next Thursday exactly one week from today.  Today is day "104".  I actually bought a baby monitor (one with a little TV monitor as well) to put near her cage so we could watch & hear her during the night.  But so far (even though it works well) I am still getting up to check on her about 3 times during the night.  (OK, so this IS quite obviously our first litter)  I am tired today (I'm sure Jo Ann is too since I kept her on the phone all night) so I decided to just sleep on the couch next to Mia's cage tonight, it'll make things much easier.  My hubby said he would even sleep on the couch with me!  What a guy!  My 2 daughters even offered to take shifts now!
:) Thanks Jo Ann!  You know you have a loyal friend when you can call them in the middle of the night to talk chin!!!!!!!
::silly:: And they still talk to you & like you the next day!

::) I can't wait to see them either!  And Jo Ann & I think she is holding out for her due date now.  I can't ever remember getting such a horrible nights sleep as last night   Mike & I had 3 cats on the couch trying to sleep with us!  Of course they were all very comfortable and thrilled with this whole slumber party!  I guess it was kinda fun but I am not so sure about doing that for several more nights   :-[.
Yes, we will videotape it.  At least we plan to.  The video camera is all set up and ready to go on the tripod near the cage.  The camera is also there and batteries are charged up.  Now we just need her to get going on this whole thing  ::silly::  ::silly::  ::silly::  ::silly::  and bring my grandchildren into the world.
