As most of you know, I just recently had a litter of Chinchilla kits. 
They (the parents) may or may not have breed again on Sunday - I guess I'll find that out in a few months now wont I? 

There are a few things I'd like to say and ask. The purpose of this breeding was educational for me. I am going to school to become a Vet Tech and I know there are so many people out there that don't know squat about Chinchillas in the Vet world. I would like to know about them so that I can be of even greater use when the time comes. Of course I took my time pairing the two I had; I didn't just throw any ol' Chinnies together.

Peekers and Boo really seemed to love each other. Now what I am questioning is this:
Do I get Boo neutered and let them live back with each other? (This is what I was planning on doing)
OR
Do I keep both of my kits (I was only planning on keeping one) and house the boy with his father and the girl with her mother?
If I do that do you think that Peekers and Boo will be lonely for each other?

UGH, such a situation 

Any and all opinions are going to be VERY much appreciated!!!!

I would think that would be completely up to you and where your heart is on the matter . First thing I would do though is know the risks of neutering and all that . Decide if you want to go ahead with that and go from there .

I talked with my Fiance and we decided we will be keeping both kits 
Not only are they the first kits born here and that makes them special, but since there was a boy and a girl born we think that we'll put the boy with the dad and the girl will stay with mom. Peekers and Boo did bond together but they both really like the babies too...I think growing up with their offspring will be nice.

I had the same mixed feelings when I separated Penny from Peekers to put Peekers with Boo...BUT Penny stayed with Pheobe, the other cage mate.
This will be the last change though, I feel too bad about the switching of cage mates.

I do know the risks, there are risks with any sort of surgery on an animal - but they are so small.

The reason I was asking about all of this is because I've heard things about Chinchillas being separated from their mates and it's a bit scary.
