Rehoming Pixel...
« on: November 25, 2008, 10:55:30 PM »

I hate to do it. I do. But its a temporary rehome... Does that make sense?
I joined the Army. I'm going to Basic Training December 30th, so I only have a few weeks left with her. I don't trust my fiance to remember to take care of her, so she is going to live with a friend of mine who has Chinchilla experience. When I come home from wherever they send me, she'll come back to me.
I'm in tears, but I knew if I joined the Army it would happen.
I know I haven't been around a lot, but I needed to vent about this, and I hoped maybe this would be the place to do it? I hope this doesn't make anyone mad, and I don't get flamed.

Of course no one is going to get mad!  I think it's great that you are being so responsible with her.  I'm sorry that you have to let her go for a while, but it's only temporary.  I'm sure things will be fine!

Thank-you for being willing to give up so much to defend our country!!  ::clapp::  I am amazed at the strength and selflessness of our soldiers.

I have helped temporarily home a chinchilla here for a lady who was being deployed so you are not alone. |hugs|  Please vent away!

Thank you both. <3
I'm going to miss her SO much. When I first got her I had NO idea how much personality they had... she's just so awesome. :)

::silly::    Yes, they do build a special place in your heart that nothing else can take, each one has it's own individual personality.  I'm sure your chin appreciates you leaving her with someone one responsible!  She will miss you as you will miss her, but reunions are so nice!

Please take care of your self and if things get a little rough, just stop and remember some of the cute things she does and the way she always makes you laugh, this will comfort you and make you smile.  Smiles are contagious.     ::nod::    Share your memories with other soldiers.   Remember each day away from her brings you one day closer to coming back to her.   :)

You will be in our prayers.   And, thank-you for what you will be doing to help keep America free.   :::grins::
