Cleaning a Beige
« on: July 10, 2010, 11:08:21 AM »

Is there a way to clean my beige? I noticed lately that her fur is gettig dirtier inspite of dusting. Her belly side is also a bit yellow from pee i guess. Can i get a damp towel and wipe her?

::silly::  You can use a damp cloth or a baby wipe.

But ...
Has she always had this problem or just recently?

If it is "always" ... this is a bad habit she probably learned from her mom ... this is why I will not allow any female to breed that has this "bad habit".   Much of what a chinchilla does is from learning from those around them.

If the answer is recently, I would get the vet to check her for a urinary tract infection.

Please keep us posted.

^^ Agree, she may have a bladder infection but baby wipes work great. When I bought 3 of my chins they came with parasites and I used baby wipes to clean their bum.

I didnt even think of it but I renovated their cage to all wood shelvings and almost zero shavings other than the flooring in their homes.

Im planning to make a litterbox and see i it changes before I go to a vet. There has been no change in mood so far
