Good place to shop for Chin food/toys...
« on: June 16, 2010, 08:20:03 PM »

I just wanted to let anyone who has a store called Country Max in their area that it is a fantastic place to shop for toys/Mazuri food, hay, etc..

The prices are fantastic and the people are just very pleasant to deal with.

I payed 15.29 for a 25lbs bag of Mazuri chin diet that is less than 3 weeks stamped from Purinas factory.

Just figured i would pass the savings on to anyone here.  I am located in the northeast specifically in the Rochester, NY area.

I wish I did, sounds like a great store. We only have Pet Smart and a couple other small places and over very over priced pet store.  ::cry222:::

If anyone needs I can ship Mazuri food out to them, i can break it down and try and help people save some money.  Id have no problem doing that.

Ive read Mazuri in a couple of posts. Is Mazuri considered the best food for the chillas?

I prefer Tradition if you are ordering over the Internet. If you are buying from a Pet Store Mazuri is better than most.

I agree, not the very BEST but its defiantly a very high quality food from what I have read.  My girls and boy love it.  Always eat the heck out of it.  For some reason they are getting a wee bit lazy when I am filling the bowls and like to get 2 or 3 each hand fed to get them wound up. I think they are training me and the girlfriend.....

alot of people i have heard had problems with diareah from mazuri, thankfully, i never did.

some other safe ones are : oxbow, tradition, [which were mentioned], nutrina naturewise - the light green bag, manna pro has two that are safe,
APD, PEN PALs, and maybe a few others, can't think of their names...

Some examples of unhealthy pet store chinchilla pellets are: Kaytee Fiesta, Kaytee Forti-Diet Pro Health Chinchilla Food, Supreme Charlie Chinchilla, Sun Seed, FM Browns Nutrition Plus and Vita-Vittles Chinchilla Diet
