Question for the Multiple Chin Owners :)
« on: April 14, 2011, 01:54:42 PM »

Recent post....

**Before i got the girls (purchased together) they had both had babies around the same time. Both girls were housed with another girl and were all bred with the same male. Snowball my white girl had her babies first and since this was the ladys first time she removed her to a new cage. 2 days after Trixie and the other girl had babies on the same day and were kept together until babies were old enough to be rehomed. She told me they helped care for each others babies . I havent had them long enough to know if snowball and trixie will do well with babies together since we havent had any yet. They are very bonded so im hoping for the best. Both my females and my new male are all doing very well together. No more fighting. They have all been together for about 5 weeks. By what they lady told me from when they had there babies in jan they should go into heat around the 20th so ill post if breeding happens**

So to add to this today i got a call fromt the lady i bought my girls from. She asked me to take the remaning chins she had for free so i did. So on top of my two girls and my beige male in a seperate cage of course i have a beige female and a black velvet male and then in another cage one of their babies born back in jan which is a beige male. So my question is shoudl i keep the beige female and add to my breeding trio? I know that all females will get along since they were all hosued together at the ladys house for over a year and ill have to see how the male acts? Is 3 females to a male too much? I do have room in my cage for her so just courious oon your thoughts.

i'm currently introducing a boy to three girls (his mum and sisters) - the boy's been neutered though so it's not exactly the same situation as yours. however, i do believe that people do have a male in with several females without trouble. you may want to add more food bowls and another water bottle as well as make sure there's a lot of floor space rather than just a large cage - i have pine platforms between each floor and it works well.

Just because they were together at one time does not mean they will except her back.  You still have to reintroduce.  Sometimes its easy, sometimes not, good luck.
