hello

i wanted to decorate my cage a little bit ,give them more ''toys'' , and my question is what kind offtoys i can putthat i dont have to buy ,home made , and if i can like take a little trunk clean it and put it on the cage.

i just wanted to say to pls be careful with the pvc pipe, chins can chew them and they are dangerous to be chewed on.. some of my guys started to chew it up realy good so i had to take it away.

the ones that are made of plastic right ?the paper ones dont have any problem right?

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is like plastic. It is commonly found in pipes and pipe fittings at hardware stores.

There should be no problem giving them cardboard tubes. Some will eat the cardboard. If they eat a lot of it then it's best to limit how much they get.

are you sure that we can use toilet paper rolls?they cannot be harmful cause they must have glue and quimical products in their conpusition

and the apple tree branches i can give them when they are green pr when they are dry?

if there isn't glue on them then they are fine, and usually you can pick it off (its usually pretty easy), much easier than paper towel rolls. I would only do once a month though; but yes it is safe. If you use apple tree braches you MUST disinfect them by putting them in the oven at low heat (not sure how long).

Are you planning to use "used" toilet paper rolls? I would just be concerned of bacteria on them, from all the dirty hands using them in the washroom. You have to think how much the toilet paper tube is handled until it runs empty and most times hands don't get washed till after the toilet paper is used.

You can buy cardboard tubes that are pet safe from stores.

Apple branches, if you are getting them from outside, should be cleaned properly. I personally scrub mine in the sink and then boil in water.
Bake in the oven for an hour to two hours (check on it every so often to make sure it is baking, but not burning. The house will smell really nice when your baking apple wood! I love it!) afterwards at about 200 degrees.
It's just to properly prepare it to get rid of harmful micro organisms or insects that may be living in the wood. Good luck with everything!

i used the paper toillet rolls but that was where the chins are we use just to clean things like the cages etc...
