Ive never owned a chinchilla ive been doing a bit of research for the basics. Ive been looking for some chinchillas and looked at craigs list instead of getting new ones and found 2 chinchillas cheap $90 with decent cage http://chambana.craigslist.org/pet/3201263645.html and eventually get a bigger nicer cage . Only problem is there male and female there bonded but neither are neutered. Do you think i should just wait and find something else or get these and maybe get one fixed i found some places in my city for exotic animals but both closed for the night so cant get a quote. Is it even worth the risk of getting one of them fixed know there are risks with any surgery, and from what ive seen can maybe be 100-150 to get one fixed. Since never owned one wondering should just get easier ones.

I recommend passing on this one. The female may already be pregnant. You might not know for a while since gestation is 100 days. Neutering is very risky as well. Separating a bonded pair can also be a nightmare especially if the surgery kills one because it can cause severe behavioral problems. You can probably get a chinchilla for about 150 dollars at a pet store but I would recommend a local breeder who carefully monitors their genetic lines for congenital disorders.

Yea thats what i was thinking if already pregnant it isn't worth all the risks involved.
