chinchilla introduction still not working
« on: March 02, 2015, 10:58:42 PM »

I have 2 chins who have bonded. I recently acquired another chin and I am trying to introduce them. I have posted on this forum regarding this matter, they told me place the chins in separate cages withing close proximity to my new chin. It was recommended that I wait two weeks then allow them to play together. They still bicker and bite each other. I was told, if it fails, to wait another week and reintroduce them. I waited another week and still no improvement. It has been over a month since I tried to introduce them, but it hasn't worked at all. I need another method to expedite things a little.

If they are biting each other they should be kept separate. I don't think they are good match. Some pairs do not work out.

Unfortunately sometimes it just cannot be made to work. If you try to force it someone may end up getting hurt. Often it is very very hard to try to introduce a third animal to an already bonded pair

If you have already tried more than once and they dont get along its not a good idea to keep trying. They most likely dont want another cage mate. Just keep him by himself.
