Dusting Problems?!
« on: April 05, 2018, 06:50:50 PM »

One of my chinchillas had kits 5 weeks ago. Anyways I let mom heal for 2 weeks before I gave her and the kits a dust bath, but the kits had no idea what to do. Which I expected for the first time or 2. So my problem is I've tried plenty of times now and nether of them know what to do. Kit 1 seems nervous of it and will not go near the dust house, and baby 2 is interested in it but wont roll around in it. I've been sprinkling dust over them for now and I've tried changing dusting containers. Just wonder if there's anything I could do to get them to dust. I don't mind dusting them myself. But in 2-3 weeks kit 2 is going to a new home, and I don't know if he will know how to bathe by then.

The kits will dust on their own and learn from watching Mom. No worries, give them time
