i was curious about playtime for chins
« on: November 28, 2007, 10:01:46 PM »

i let Roo out for alittle while today, he looks so alone & sleeps alot..i know its day time but how long does everyone let them out? for how long at a time? Should they only come out for like an hour a day? i*m unsure & dont want him to get bored. is it a bad idea to let him out more than once a day?

An hour is plenty of time for a chin to stay out. During the day they do tend to look bored and sleepy and thats what they are supposed to do. They are more sleepy tho- not bored. When they are bored and want out thats when they will be begging at the cage door really. I wouldn't worry about letting them out more then once.. they don't need to be out too long. Just time to get them moving around outside their cage walls. Maybe he would get to used to being out if he was out too often.. and they lose interest in you sometimes that way.

Most mine get 20 minutes, while some just have a run around and jump right back in the cage.
Other protest, some get along and can over lap getting 40 or 60 minutes out, but that would be the longest.
