Getting ready to bake my first batch of Apple wood....
« on: January 06, 2008, 07:16:38 PM »

I have been buying it for so long and am so excited to have found out we had one on our property all along! Duh! (wide open spaces here in wyoming  :) )
I have scrubbed it and cleaned it, but I am not sure how long to bake it. Some people say up to 6 hours some people say only an hour. What do you all think???

You need to boil them about 45 mins. to an hour, then bake them on 175-250 about 5-8 hours. Make sure the wood is dry dry or it will grow mold. I've heard people say they do this overnight. Good luck.  I looked on another forum they say to boil 30 mins then bake at 250 for 2 hours. Don't burn it, and do not put in plastic bags.
