A spary you can use so your chin won't chew on wood?

Has anyone heard or used a spray that they can use on things they don't want their chins to chew on? I have a wodden border in my room. I try to cover it up, but pogo and snowie find a way to get to it. They also like to chew on the legs on my couch and then I have trouble getting them on. I was looking at websites from the chinchilla club I clicked on this one. Brisky Pet Products. I sow that they had a few different sprays. The one I was looking at is called bitter apple, it says '

Invented by a pharmacist to discourage small furry animals from

    * fur biting,
    * hair chewing and
    * chewing on each other. 

Also can help prevent chewing on furniture.

8 fl. oz. pump spray bottle..

I was wondering if that is safe to use?

No, no, no sprays!!!  It is completely natural for chins to chew.  You need to find a more chinchilla proofed area for them to play in.

Chinchillas are supposed to chew, don't spray that stuff, it COULD be deadly and it isn't for chinchillas.  It may say for small and furry animals.

Have you tried using the bathroom for playtime..?  Please do not use that bitter apple spray, chinchillas are just doing their natural thing.. chew, if they don't chew, you've got problems.

I can understand your concern about them chewing your furniture, they should not be allowed to play where they can get into things.

Yes, I agree completely.  Chinnies are supposed to chew on everything...it's part of their charm  ::)

I would recommend you get a playpen to confine their playtime, or take them into the bathroom to play.  They will chew on your bathroom cabinets though, and please make sure your toilet lid is down.

I was only going to get the spray if you guys said it was safe. I thought about buying a play pen.
