Safe/Unsafe Wood
«

Hello everyone....have a question on woods. I have been doing some research on "Scaley Bark Hickory". We had a tree go down in a wind storm in our yard. Does anyone know if that is a safe wood for our chinnies? I have found large lists in my research, but don't see that one listed under safe or unsafe. I don't know what else it would be called. Hickory is a common name.

I don't know but I wouldn't use it unless you know for sure it is safe.

I think hickory is considered a hard wood ...
... if that's the case, I would assume it would not be safe for chinchillas. That is one wood that I have not seen listed one way or the other, just for safety's sake alone, I would not use it.

Thanks...I did search quite in depth, but never did find it listed. SOOOO, when in doubt, we don't jeopardize our chinnies safety, do we?
