Cheech's eye was getting pretty bad, there was no discharge but she was getting a lump just above the tear duct and I could see what looked like a hair in there. My usual vets aren't open over the holidays so I tried a new one and the vet I saw was really really good. She said, however that she didn't think it was an infection and thought it might be an abscess as the lump is just over the eye. Now I feel awful because I was pushing it a little to try and get the infection out. I'm really worried  might have done more damage. I've been given new eye drops to give 3 - 5 times a day for a few days to see how it goes. If it doesn't get any better Cheech might have to have gas and they're going to lance it. I'm really worried about my baby.
Any advice on the subject would be great.

On a good note though, the vet commented on how well trained she was, Cheech just jumped up onto my shoulder and sat there. She also learned how to open her carrier from the inside so on the way home I had to wrap my jacked around it to stop her getting out. She's too clever for her own good.

Awww poor baby, wishing you both the best.
I had one get an eye abscess years ago,it looked so very bad but didn't seem to fizz on the chin much.
After her treatments of cleanings and antibiotics it was fine.
My nerves were shot though, so hang tight it should be fine.

I really don't have any advice because we havent had this issue . I do wish you all the best and I hope it clears up perfectly and your baby is back to her old self.

Quick update:
Cheech had an operation yesterday to remove the abcess which went as well as I could have hoped. So far she's eating fine, just a little bit grumpy. She also has antibiotics which she is complaining about taking. But hopefully all will be well with her in a week or so.

      Fantastic!  That is great news! 

Remember, when your little one is on antibiotics ... antibiotics kill all bacteria ... even the good bacteria known as 'flora' that keeps your chin's digestive system going properly.  To counter act this, yogurt can be given between doses of antibiotics.  Make sure there is at least 3 hours between the antibiotic med and the yogurt ... if not, you will be defeating the purpose of both.  Yogurt is a milk product ... most antibiotics are impotent when given at the same time as a milk product.  Yogurt contains the flora needed, but if you give the yogurt and antibiotics at the same time, the antibiotics will kill the good bacteria/flora, which the chin needs.  When a chin's digestive system shuts down, his whole system can shut down.

Thank you for the advice.
I've also just discovered a quick way to catch her so as not to stress her out too much. She still hates me though, lol. I'll earn her trust again afterwards.
