new to chin care

I have had a chin now for about a month. He was abused both by a female and given lots of junk food. He is only about a year maybe a bit less. It is slow going to get him to even let me pet him but when I do he falls asleep with me scratching him under neck or under front leg. He is very scittish and I am just hoping to find some info here or even some encouragement. My white chins name is Bucky. My husband named him and just said it fit.

Clarification...that was abused by a female chin. I think the people were trying to breed him and she tore him up. His last patch of hair is growing back.

hi, i'm sorry i'm alittle confused.. are you asking about how long it will take for her to warm up?
it can take time, some longer than others, just be patient and go slow

yes a month is not long too a chinchilla, they don't foreget much either.
I'd say he's doing pretty good after just a month. Keep up what your doing it seems to be working.
Do you sit on the floor with him when he's out playing?

hey this is great, for the first time he didn't run when I put my hand out. I was pretty nervous cause he bit when we first got him, but now he is just sniffing. there is hope.
