Alternative to "bedding"?

Hi everybody.
I have 2 beautiful Chins running around their spacious Critter Nation 162 all night long, and so every morning I need to spend quite some time removing all bedding fell down on the floor around their quarters.
Is there any alternative to the traditional setting "Plastic tray + bedding"? I was thinking about getting rid of the bedding and the plastic trays, replacing everything with custom-made wood trays. Does this make sense?
Or the only alternative is just to apply some sort of "barriers" on the side of the cage?

I have a few different setups on my FN 142 that seem to work great.  I have built a "splash guard" as you will as my chins love to do burnouts and flick their bedding EVERYWHERE.  If you want to get in touch with me 585-260-3530 and i would be happy to send you dimensions and pics and you can build the same.  I love the idea, i have changed it 3x to better make it work and i think i have a winner now.

they are great.. just tell them its for a fn142, they fit perfectly.

you can also try using fleece, but if you notice anyone chewing, pls take it out imediately, it can cause problems.

you can also try litter box training.. they will always poop all over, but they can learn to pee in a litter pan and then the cage is must easier to clean..

whatever you decide, hope it works out well.

You can also use fleece as bedding. When I used the pine shavings for awhile i had cardboard around part of there cage. Then at night they would try to get to it through the cage and it kept me up.

I guess I will try a few different solutions to see which one works better for me and...the Chins...
