Thorough bed shavings safe?
« on: November 09, 2011, 10:58:21 PM »

Since me and my girlfriend picked up our little pumpkin in june we have been using thorough bed shavings for his litter, though before we got more information on keeping him happy we had him on screened floors so the shavings were never near him, but today we upgraded to an FN142 and we put the shavings in each level, he seems to love chewing on the stuff  but is it okay for him to?

on another note does anyone have a link to specific directions for decking out a fn142 with wood shelves and even how to make wood toys?

What sort of wood are the shavings?  Pine and aspen are fine.  Ceder is not.  Chinchillas do eat some shavings each time you clean the cage.  It won't hurt them.

Welcome to the world of chins ::kiss99::
He should go to the bottom to go so you shouldn't need shavings on every level, do you?
I'm thinking he'd make a fine mess.   ::nod::
