I gave Snickerdoodle 2 Cheerios and he was chewing them strangely. He opened his mouth more than usual to chew. Help! I can't take him to the vet because my mother won't let. Is there any way I can check his teeth?

Just keep measuring his weight and food intake each day. If there is something wrong that is serious it will show up there eventually. Looking at the front teeth isn't always conclusive. If you think you are seeing an abnormality, though, see if you can post a picture. You have to have special tools to see the molars.

That is a shame she won't take it to the vet...have you called around and just priced a office visit? Knowing facts help...

I see...well that is good to hear. If your chinchilla starts to get a wet mouth from drool...that is a sign to get to the vet. Just keep being observant.
