Hi guys
So I'm buying new cages for my chinnies on Sunday and would like to ask some questions

If anyone has one can I ask does it have a pull out litter tray?
Also if it doesn't what would be best to have at the bottom for litter. Knowing my chinnies they will try eat it so any suggestions of chin safe litters as such to use like wood shavings or anything to absorb the pee? lol

I used to use wood shavings but switched to fleeces and have never looked back.

I think aspen bedding is safe for chins. Google it though to make sure...there are certain woods that are poisonous to them.

That cage is nice. It's pretty much the same as the two i have. If the trays are plastic you'll want to find some way to cover the edges so they aren't chewed/ingested. Plastic is a big no-no.

I have one of these and an x-trail rodent cage.

The one in the link is the same size as the savic and cheaper. It is all metal as well. The pull out trays are metal. Construction is super solid and quite a deal at the pice.

Both those cages look nice although I'm not familiar with them. Certainly ask the store about the metal pans.
Considering both of these cages depict wire ramps this is just a reminder to never use wire ramps with chinchillas. They will fracture their feet and legs on them. Chinchillas don't need ramps of any kind as they are excellent at jumping onto surfaces.

Make sure to fit any chinchilla cage with wooden shelving. Making shelving is not very difficult with some basic tools. I consider these a necessity for keeping chinchillas.

Plastic cage pans are dangerous as the plastic can cause mechanical damage to the intestines and obstruct them. I also know of chinchillas that have chewed through them and escaped from their cages.

All metal...i took the wire ramps out as they are definitely going to eventually cause injury.
