Need Suggestions on where to purchase Securing Cage Clamps
« on: July 30, 2007, 06:13:30 PM »

Hey guys I'm new here so I hope I'm putting this into the correct section.

Anyway, I recently purchased a used Super Pet cage... (http://www.amazon.com/Super-Pet-Deluxe-First-Multi/dp/B0001RTWLK) My chin is actually quite happy with it and it was a really good deal and significant upgrade over her original cage. My only gripe is that the hooks used to secure the cage to the litter pan are plastic! My chin has already eaten through one and I am sure the other will be ripped to pieces any day now. Anyone know where metal replacements can be purchased? I tried my local Pet store to no avail. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks! :)

I don't know where you could get any, but make sure your chinchilla doesn't have access to any plastic, they can't digest it and it will kill them. Make sure you replace any plastic shelves with wood. :)

You can find cage stuff at either of the following links:

Martin's cages
Valentine Group, Inc.

I have used Martin's before and they usually ship things very quickly.  They ship from PA so I guess it depends where you live as to which might be faster.  You could also try looking for local farm supply stores.  A lot of time they will sell cage building stuff for farmers who raise rabbits and such.

Hope this is helpful!
