A little Help; Chins/Guinea Piggies
« on: November 09, 2007, 06:26:54 AM »

Hello!

I'm looking towards the holiday season acquiring a guinea pig (Preferribly), or another chinchilla.

I was just wondering if any of you knew a Cavery, or  Chinchilla breeder near Memphis, TN.  I can't travel far due to disabilities in the family.

There are 5 chinchilla rescue volunteers listed in TN at http://www.chinformation.org/rescues.html.  You might want to see if any of them have rescues available for adoption.  :)  Best of luck!

THe only problem is, I'm located in Memphis, at the opposite side of those rescues. ( I have already looked at them ,heheh...) And, most rescues do not ship. { Completely understandable. }

Thanks for the Help, though!

Sometimes a little travel is necessary...  I've driven about 9 hours one way to get the perfect chinchilla.   ::nod::

That's true.  The most wonderful chinchillas are usually the farthest away.

Well, sometimes they're not. :)

Hehe, like I said, I wouldn't mind traveling, it's my family that would have to go with me. :) Father is disabled, and mother has to take care of him, so travel more than perhaps an hour or two driving distance is almost impossible.

Perhaps you can travel two hours and one of the rescues can travel two hours and you could meet halfway?  (I don't know how far away you are from these places, so...  ::think::  Just trying to come up with some ideas for you!  :) )

I am in Jackson, MS. I have a rescue that should be available for adoption next month, and a few pregnant chins that will be due in about two months. Let me know if I can help you.
