Things that go bump in the night
« on: August 10, 2006, 10:02:12 PM »

It always seems that as soon as I finally get my children to sleep and I fina;;y wind down and am in a good sleep
CRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I run downstairs with a large metal flash light in my hand to see what the noise was and I turn on the light in my dining room and there are my chinnies standing at the door both of them looking at me with their heads tilted to one side doing their little grunting sound "I want to play some more"
anything like this happen to any one else?

the beginning of spring I came down in the morning and opened my vertical blinds like I alwasy so and the outer layer of glass to the sliding glass door in my dining room was completely shattered all the pieces were still in place it looked like crackled glass someone must have thrown a small rock or something but ever since I have been a very light sleeper and when my chinnies play their little joke on me I think of that morning

well when I move I am going to be putting them in my bedroom cause I will not have a dining room anymore and that will even quiet them down a bit to playing  around instead of dumping things over and making loud noises  or they will make more ::shrug::
we will see

The only sounds maggie makes are the grumpy ones:

I have no idea what we do to annoy her so...

mine are so silly I straightened up their cage last night and you know what they did they destroyed it awhhh they are grooming each other that is so cute but the only thing that they can't move is their food dish it is nailed to the shelf and their hut I nailed it too  :::grins:: I did the food dish so they wouldn't nock it over and then I put it under the other shelf that way there wouln'd be alot of poop droppings in it when they jump around their cage :) these two are so silly and cute and naughty

Dusty is such a noisy chinchilla ,luckily im a heavy sleeper. He usually sleeps in my room which is right next to my brothers and across the hall from my parents. But in the summer he stays downstairs where its cooler but everyone can still hear him on his wheel. When i hear it while im awake i wonder how i sleep through it so does everyone else.... :::grins::

hehe since I've had my chins i have usually been getting up at the first bump to make sure the cage doors are closed. Allthough one time i heard a dragging noise, and woke up that morning to see that they had dragged their hut (while inside it) up to the edge of the cage and somehow forgot how to drag it away. Now it is weighed down by one of those ChinChiller marble slabs, that way its harder for them to move it, and it keeps them cool on the days where the room gets up to 78 degrees no matter what the thermostat is set at. (i have recently had the privelege to catch them doing this and i am amazed at that little ball of fluff lifting that entire hut with his teeth and moving it while inside it)

My 2 little boys have found a new way to keep me up. They get an apple stick each night and they will take it and run back and forth in there cage letting it hit the side of the cage. It gets really loud and annoying when I am trying to sleep so I end up getting up and playing with them a few mins and then I have to take there sticks.

I have found that they like to watch my lava lamp. I cut it on when I get home from work and I will catch them sitting on there ledges just staring at it for the longest time. Its so cute!

:::grins::  How cute is that! Chinpo and Ping are tipping their foods bowl and dumping all the food out. So now find one that they can't do that to.  ;D
