Chocolate or Extra dark tan
«

Can anyone tell me the best way for me to decide if I have a chocolate or extra dark tan chin? I had babies about a week ago. There were 2 in the litter.....males. One is dark ebony. The other...not positive as to whether he is an extra dark tan or chocolate. The father was sold to me by a breeder who had stated dark tan or extra dark tan ?chocolate on the pedigree. Momma is an extra dark tan. I have heard that the dark coloring of the fur should go all the way down to the skin. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ~JANE~

If I get time, I'll post a picture, but he is so tiny. As far I know.....it's one of those things that you would have to have a great quality picture of & look so close to the hair coloring that I don't know if it would do any good to post one.

Blow into the fur. If its a chocolate the fur will be the same color all the way to the skin. In a dark tan the underfur will be lighter than the tips.
