thinking of getting a yorkie poo

I was thinking of getting a yorkie poo. I'm not sure when. I"m trying to convince my dad to let me have one but he thinks i have to many pets as it is. I may have to wait till i get a house, which i hope will be in about a yr. I was at the park last week and soo one. They are soo cute. I don't know to much about this breed yet. I know that their aren't really any known health problems with that. I was wondering if anyone had one that could tell me more about them and if my chins would be safe around one.
THANKS!

Relatives had one for many years, beautiful animals, then I haven't seen many dogs I didn't like either.
Very friendly family dogs, and I like that they are too big.

well thats good to know. I grew up with a golden retriver and those are great family dogs, but it would be nice to have a cute little dog, instead of a big lap dog.

No specific breed of dog can guarentee you won't have a barker. Lemon juice in the plastic shaped lemon at the store...or lime. Works on braking the habit. Allow a dog one or two barks to warn you someone is at the door. Then squirt it in their mouth after a warning of "No Barking" They will prefer one of the other...but it ends with only having to show them the plastic container to hush them up.
We've had bulldogs for years...never had a vocal one until Sarge. So you just never know. As I say...I think any breed can be a barker.
