4 days is a tad long with out being checked on. They could turn over dishes, pull down water bottle, or have an accident.
Is there anyway you could have someone stop in and refill dishes, check on water and make sure they are safe.
If not you'll have to fill them with 4 days of feed, add an extra water bottle just in case, and hope for the best.
I wouldn't leave them that long.My nerves would be shot and I wouldn't be able to have any fun anyway. ;)

I agree with Debbie...that is way too big of a chance to take...I have my mother in law who will check on mine if we are gone overnight even. My boys toss their water bottle off of the cage and they have no way of getting out to get it. They are playful and love to tip stuff upside down..4 days...much too long to leave them without anyone checking on them. Anything could happen and you surely would not want to come back to something that could have been prevented and then you are beating yourself up because of it! Don't take the chance....be safe rather than sorry later.

and just to add one more thing....after a day or so of seeing no one...he may get that much more bored and crazy and do destructive things that could end up hurting himself!

Yeah, i would never leave mine that long. You could see if there is a chinchilla vet close to you that could watch them, if you don't have anyone that you would trust coming it and taking care of your chin.

personally i wouldn't leave mine alone for a 24 hour period.

things can happen super quick with a chinchilla and go downhill from there super quick... there are times when a vet apt just can not wait or it could be life threatening.

I have to agree with everyone. Is there a neighbor that can feed them? Anyone? You could pay them. I just would not take that risk, it's just way to long. I could see overnight but not 4 days without any attention or seeing anyone.

someone needs to check in on the chinchilla at least 1 time a day or you will likely come home to a dead chinchilla
