Hi there

Random question, my male Chinchilla squeaks and makes chattering sounds and squeaks where as my female chinchilla (who is just over a year old) is very quiet and doesnt do any of this, do most females chatter? My male sounds so cute when hes chattering away and i would love both of them to be vocal haha

I think it just depends on the chinchilla. Out of the 6 I've had, I think they've all squeaked or chattered or clucked a little bit from time to time but I have one female kit that squeaks and clucks extremely loudly during playtime. I have a male kit that does this sometimes during playtime but their mother doesn't do it at all. She makes some random alarm calls during the day though, scares the hell out of me sometimes because it's so out of the blue!

i agree, but i haven't had a ton of chins for a super long time

i do know that my bo is chatty, but for the first time i actually heard noel chatting away,, i love it so much.
