Chinchilla Names
« on: July 26, 2011, 02:20:17 PM »

Hi all,

I'm still trying to decide a name when I get my chin. I prefer a human-pet name, but any names would be appreciated. Something original too, so not ones like Fluffy. He'll be a male.

So far I like these names: Clyde, Clayton, Duncan, Dustin, Fuzzball, Dunstan, Baxter and Riley.

Thanks!  ;) :::grins::

My boys names are Peep, Puff, Stripe Mallow and Titan.  Of course everyone has their nicknames Peep is doodle, Puff is dood man, Stripe is just stripe, Mallow is combover as he has a dark black spot on his head that looks like a Donald Trump Combover and Titan we call a ballarina***SPELLING*** because of when he had to wear a "hat" to prevent him chewing his stiches.

Whatever you call them, they still love you!

I was going to call my two Bowie and Coconut but when I got them, they didn't seem like that would suit. They just seemed like a Hank and Annie! I reckon once you get your chinchilla, one particular name will stick out in your mind and it will just seem right.

Ah, the name struggle...I know it well.  Because I am terrible at coming up with names, I tend to use this site: http://www.behindthename.com/.  Good luck picking out a name for your fuzzy one.

Hi again

Thanks for all the replies. I've narrowed it down (kind of) and found a couple of names I really, REALLY like. Here are the finalists:

Baxter, Duncan, Riley, Joey, Choco, (not too sure about that one) and Cliquot (pronounced Clee-ko)

Please tell me your favourite(s)

Thanks! ;)

I like all the names mentioned..I would have to say that the task of naming the little buggers comes naturally once you have the little guy or little girl in your hands and you look into their eyes and at their face..They are all so incredibly unique! Who knows...once you have chosen your chin..you may not go with any of the names you have chosen!
Mine are as follows: Males: Rip Snortin Roo Bee Doo (Roo for short), Gizmo and Kingston...Females as follows: Bella Luna and Lucy Liu...could not have named them before I saw them....Best of Luck on your chinnie quest!
