weird digging
« on: February 20, 2012, 11:14:06 PM »

Hi my name is Gage and I just got my chin from a buddy who wasn't home very often. We've been bonding wonderfully but today he randomly started digging at the bottom of his cage. I was wondering if this was normal behavior or not. Thank you!

Yes it is completely normal! They are part of the rodent family, so they forage for food. My chin digs inside his igloo home all the time just to play:)

Whenever my chinnies do that, I always assume they're telling me they want baths since they did like that in between spins in their dust.  Even if that isn't what they're telling me, they always stop doing it for about a week...until it's about time for another bath.
