I  went to petco on Friday to look at the chinchillas and I saw the cutest thing! Two baby girls, around three months old, were following each other around their cage  :::grins:: the employee told me that it's rare for chinchillas at their store to bond so closely. Does anyone have chins that do this?

I find it interesting that they said its odd for chinchillas to bond.  But then I think its odd for a petco to have such young chinchillas.  I have only ever seen fully grown chins in the ones around here.  Young chinchillas are always looking for something to bond to.  I find that if I put any two young chinchillas together they are bonded by the next day.  Once you get above 4-5 months old they begin to get set in their ways and it gets harder to get them to accept a new cage mate.

In NYC, there are many young babies at petco.
If I was to introduce a female to my unneutered 10 month male, would he be territorial or accept her as a mate?
