It is almost 1 year old. I noticed its eyes yesterday.. Could this have happened because of the pregnancy?

Cataracts in chinchillas can be caused by a genetic defect or glaucoma. Another possible cause is diabetes. It is unusual for a one year to get regular cataracts but it does happen. If it were my chinchilla I wouldn't worry about it but I would not give sugary treats just in case. Perhaps some else can comment.

If they are indeed cataracts and they are starting this early eventually this chin will go blind and there is no good way to treat it. Chinchillas can do fine without eyesight but need to be protected from hurting themselves outside of the cage. Because it is genetic watch for this in her kits when they grow if they live.
