Brothers or adopted siblings or males put together at about 6 to 8 weeks of age usually do the best ... BUT ... that can change as they get older ... it can never be guaranteed they will stay friendly forever ... especially with females in sight/scent range.

We need everyone to know, it will work with some, but not all ...
If you try it, be ready to accept what happens.

It's been a while since we have been on this subject.  But it is one that needs to be in our minds constantly.  I have had a father and son living together for 8 months without the first problem, females going in season all around them.  Something changed, not sure what, but this time, when the female in the next cage went into season, they fought.   It is not pretty what happened.  I think the son will survive, but that is not positive at this time.  The father is unharmed.  Neither will be together again.

Hi I have a question!!! I have two male brothers that have been together for 4 years now and some times the fight . I do not have any females. they get alone most of the time but some times they fight the hole cage is rocking back and forth and pore raisins jumps all around and hides from muffin and makes a squeaking sound . Muffin is always the mean one. they will go all day with out sleeping together ( they always sleep together they cuddle up all day it is so cute) . and at night they will not interact with each other. then the next morning they are fine. is this normal, what should I do ??

The night time is when they are most active ... sibling rivalry is normal to a certain extent ... but if you see blood ... no choice but to separate!  Or if one is having a constant mental effect on the other one, I would think that it would be best to separate them.
     Sounds like they are still trying to decide who will be the alpha/boss chin OR Muffin is just a bully.
     Poor Raisins might be better off alone at night and have only supervised playtime with Muffin.  Besides, I don't think I would want Muffin to be able to torture Raisins like that.  More than likely, it will go no futher than it has ... but it is still possible ... would you want to be where you would be afraid constantly?  If in separate cages, but fairly close to each other, they can still chatter and talk between cages at night.  Just a thought.

Thank you for your input! I will keep a close watch on them. it only happens about one or two days a month. I hope its just sibbling rivalry. Thanks!!!!

Gee Jo Ann,
That was some fight, but yes at some point in time I get the same reactions.
I find it just easier and safer to let friends play together, but give each his own cage.I have two males now that have buddied up for play time, but put one in the others cage and watch the testosterone fly. 
I rather enjoy watching them glad to see each other every night, sure beats the other.

Hi Debbie,
   I agree, that's why we're picking up 24 more cages at the show in Rock Hill, SC on November 18th.
   Bill has also made some extra cages with our baby boom going on right now and while I was out of commission for 7 months.
    Right now I have little Christopher Robin in a cage upstairs in the living room to give him the daily care he needs.  He's eating good and becoming more and more friendly as the soreness leaves him.
