Traveling to Israel
« on: September 29, 2013, 04:16:27 PM »

My dad and I will be taking a trip within the month and I wanted to know if I should avoid the chinchilla when I get back? Just in case?

There won't be a problem if you take the usual precautions. Usually on trips like that you'll get a head cold because you're crammed in with so many people. If you feel sick then minimize contact.

Can chinchillas get head lice? I know it's a weird question, but in Israel, there's always an epidemic of head lice. Should I avoid Doodle if I get it?

Your chinchilla won't get head lice. It has a decent coat of fur. Chinchilla have coats that are too dense to allow lice as long as the coat is healthy and in tact. You may want to try a nit comb on your hair when you get home though just to make sure you aren't carrying any.

Thanks :) I hope I don't get lice. In Israel, they have so much lice that people give up on cleaning it... It's crazy!
