Welcome to our boards.
Sounds like you live close to where chinchillas originally came from. Maybe you can teach us something too!
If you take good care of your chinchilla each day I would not recommend putting another with him. Chinchillas that grow up alone usually prefer to stay alone. If they fight with each other they can kill each other so if you decide to get another pet you will need to be very careful and know how to properly introduce them.

Welcome! I'm pretty new to the forum as well, but I have had my chin around the same length as you. :)

tahnks!!
I did not know that... many people tell me that they are more happy with a partner...
Now I do not have classes but in normal period my chin is alone for most of the day, if i dont got one earlier was cause i don had the money or enough space in his cage...

and yes, i live near of Chile but here is not cold, in winter never snow

Chinchillas sleep mostly during the day so it's better to play with them early in the morning or in the evenings. Some pets will become accustomed to being handled during the day. My chinchilla is sleepy during the day and active mostly at night but lets me handle him during the day without getting too upset.
