kit color problem
« on: May 19, 2015, 09:40:30 AM »

Good morning all,

I have three kits that are maturing very well and are starting to show their true colors better. But along with that I'm having problems determining the colors of two of the three kits. They are from the same litter. One little girl looks to be a medium ebony but the boy and other girl almost look hetero beige but neither of the parents are beige. To my knowledge they aren't carriers either as the sire is light standard grey and dam is dark ebony. Could either of the parents be carriers and not show the color? Any help would be appreciated as I don't have kits very often and am novice about some of the color combos. Thanks

Updated 5-20-15 I have update this post with pictures. I'm not exactly sure what the grandparents to the kits are but I was wondering if one could be a beige carrier without showing any characteristics? Like I said I am very novice at this. The picture is of the little girl as her color showed up better on the camera. Neither of the two in question have white bellies which makes me lean toward light Tan. Any help would be helpful.

Perhaps it will help to post pictures. What were the parents of the parents?

What color is listed on the parents pedigrees? Can you post pics of them as well?

The dam is an ebony with all ebony and standards in her background and the sire is a lighter standard grey. He only has half a pedigree and it's mostly standard grey. I will get pictures of them tonight and post them.
